Our August + September 2026 Updates
We've been hard at work developing the stage and grounds, and booking music and workshops through August and into the fall. A few things to know about the space: it's outside, tucked into the woods behind the Mill, and seating is limited, so bring a blanket and chairs.
In the spirit of community, we'll have bites from the Mill — currently grilled cheese sandwiches on our sourdough, and focaccia — but we welcome food from all of you too. It's a potluck, for all of us. Beverages will be limited, so bring what you'd like to drink.
Ticketing varies by performer, so check the calendar for each event: some are ticketed, with a link to the performer's own payment page; some are suggested-donation, with cash or Venmo accepted at the door; and some are free, where donations of cash, food, or a helping hand are always welcome.
Our First Residency:
Lily Vakili
Singer/Songwriter
We're honored to open our first residency with Lily Vakili, a singer-songwriter we got to know well back at Ruthie's in Montclair, where she was a favorite. She performed here again last year out of the Vintage Garage — what we've come to call our Speakeasy Jams — and people have been asking when she'd be back ever since.
This time, she's got three dates: a duo performance with Eric Burns on Saturday, August 22; a songwriting workshop that Thursday, August 27th; and the full experience with her full band on September 27th.
Reviewers have taken notice too. New Jersey Stage praised how she commands a room from the moment she steps on stage, calling it "more like a shared experience than simply a concert." Voxwave pointed to her personal, observational lyricism and unconventional harmonies, noting the "raw, unfiltered energy" that defines her sound. And Creative Loafing likened her howling voice and intense, personal lyrics to Patti Smith.
Also on the calendar…
the Marksboro Mills House Band with Spectacular Guests, Thursday, August 13, 6–9pm — local artists performing in this magical space, reflecting back to all of us the talent that lives right here amongst us. We're not ready to name the performers yet, but this is a full band performance, not an open jam.

Registration and ticketing vary by event, so check the calendar link for each performance — some performers sell tickets directly from their own sites, others we simply ask for a donation at the Mill.
Our goal is to keep these events affordable for everyone, but donations are always appreciated, and help us keep building and keep the grilled cheese coming. And as always, potluck dishes and shared drinks are welcome too.

Classes have been a big part of what people love about the Mill, and we're just as committed to them as ever — with more on the way as the season changes.
Right now, Emily from Emily's Hearth has her next pizza class here on Sunday, August 30, 4–7pm.
This is a master class in pizza making: you'll learn to build the best pizza dough from our own freshly milled flour, then top it with ingredients that are seasonal and a little adventurous — nothing like your typical pizza night.
It's a hands-on, sit-down-and-eat kind of class, unique and a little extraordinary, the same way we like to think of the Mill itself.
