Here at Marksboro Mills, we offer Private Classes, Group Tours & Presentations, and an opportunity to learn about the importance of restoring a natural grain economy.

From farm tours and growing seminars, to milling demonstrations and baking classes, we are committed to exposing our community to all aspects of grain farming and processing.

LEARN WITH US

This is not a mission we can achieve alone

It is a movement that will take all of us to realize, from the grower to the consumer.

Group Tours

We’ve had university students learning about entrepreneurship and new approaches to building, a Girl Scout troop wanting to make their cookies with real flour, grammar and high school groups learning the full story of grain from seed to bread, and beginning farmers wanting to learn how to get started in grain farming.

Where our food comes from, healthy farming, and grain as a new frontier for healthy eating are top of mind for a lot of people right now…

There are few places where you can actually learn and explore these ideas firsthand! If you’re looking for a unique and impactful tour for your group, reach out to us at hello@marksboromills.com for inquiries.

MEET OUR WONDERFUL BAKERS!

Michael’s bread is a slow, 30-hour process, baked fresh before we open each morning. It’s a labor of love and it shows in every slice. He is your guy for most anything bread, but, you will also be able to pick up his famous decadent but balanced brownies that people tend to stock their freezers with, for which we understand why!

THE VINTAGE Shop

Step inside our three-bay garage and you can still feel what this place used to be. Long before it was Marksboro Mills, this was Cappy’s—a farm equipment repair site that serves the many small family owned farms in the area, back when small farming in NJ was resilient and a very important part of the local economy.

The workbench lining the wall is aged and worn from a lifetime of use, and the cubbies built into the walls once held the machine parts needed to keep tractors and tools running. A historic wood stove—the original woodshop’s only source of heat—stil stands here, lovingly restored.

Today, that same space holds a different kind of treasure: Vintage finds curated by Natalie, of Odd’s and Era’s. There’s something special about vintage shopping—the way an old object can stop you mids-tep with a memory, a reminder of your past, or something your family once had. It’s a wonderful place to wander, dig, and reconnect, surrounded by all the shared history of where it came from.

Odd’s and Era’s is open seasonally every other saturday, and sometimes along with our Woodland Stage events—check in with @oddsanderas for her exact hours!

This is a place built around community.

A sound stage made for music, poetry, story telling, creatives.

Built with a purpose of bringing your voice back to the forefront.

LISTEN WITH US

We envisioned a true community stage

Built for creatives, and for the friends and community who want to hear and support them.

From Past to Present

Our Woodland Stage was made from Cappy’s old family sheds we were required to take down after purchasing the property—beautifully aged and patina’d, and we didn’t want to lose that history.

So, we salvaged the material and dreamed up a stage in this sacred space, tucked in the forest. One that feels cut off from the rest of the world, surrounded by the sounds of songbirds by day and crickets at night.

want to perform?

Our Woodland Stage

Whether it’s a Community Jam hosted by Mingo Lodge every other Wednesday, or performers we book from the region, these are mostly free events, where people bring food to share.

Mingo brings his own deep roots to the space — he spent years working alongside Pete Seeger at the Clearwater Festival, and has long believed in music as a way of building community, not just performing for one. We know we will see creative expression grow here — comedy, kid’s performances, storytelling, theater — we’re open and excited to see what you make of this space.

The operating word is community. People pitch in — helping with setup and cleanup is part of it. It’s a potluck kind of place: we grill up grilled cheese sandwiches from our own bread, and others share dishes made with our grains and flours. And of course Donations in support of the work we do here and the creatives that perform are very much appreciated and encouraged.
